Christmas events in Greater Manchester

On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love sent to me…

Seven swans a-swimming

six geese a-laying | five gold rings | four calling birds

three French hens | two turtle doves | and a partridge in a pear tree

We’re well and truly in the run-up to Christmas now. With a mere 17 days to go until Christmas Eve, it’s time to make the most of the most wonderful time of the year! If you find yourself up North some time, why not check out some of these?

The Christmas market

Whilst it’s been on since the beginning of November already, the Christmas market still runs until the 22nd of December, with the part in Albert Square opening for an extra day on the 23rd. Mulled wine, hot chocolate, sweet and savoury treats are waiting for you!

Lightwaves

Starting tonight, the Lightwaves festival in Media City runs until the 16th. Impressive light displays and art installations can be marvelled at every day from 4 pm until 10:30 pm. Find out more information here.

Bolton Winter Festival

Especially for families, it’s worth venturing a bit further North between now and the 30th of December for the Bolton Winter Festival. There’s not just an ice rink, Santa’s Express and a play waiting for you – if you go there tomorrow between 10 am and 2 pm, you can get in the festive spirit with music, entertainment, games and much more at the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Fair! Click here for all the infos you need.

The Manchester Festive Happening

It’s on in two days, so be quick if you want to grab some tickets! “A Gospel Christmas” is for everyone from all ages (although anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult) and is on from 3 pm until 6 pm.

If you go somewhere and happen to take photos, make sure to tag #LKXmas so I can see all of your festivities!

’til next time x
