Another year has passed in which memes were born, songs have caught our ears and thrilling dramas have kept us captivated in front of our TVs. We were given 280 characters and a new thread option on Twitter, celebrated marriage equality in Australia and got excited over a royal wedding for 2018, mainly because the bride will definitely mix things up in the palace – how refreshing!

On the downside, we had to encounter a lot of unpleasant things, both online and offline. Unfortunately, I feel like the blogosphere and a few social media channels have been full of malicious words and attacks, but despite all the negativity, a lot of good things have come out of this year, too. Fantastic music, entertaining YouTube videos, beautiful photography and perfectly worded articles. Here are my favourites of 2017.
