The best autumn and winter evenings are those snuggled up in cosy PJs, having the fairy lights on, drinking a hot cuppa and having a scented candle lit.
I’m not the best at describing scents but with a little help of the internet, I might be able to give you an idea of what these smell like or it might inspire you to go and have a sniff yourself! Let’s jump right into it, shall we?
Yankee Candle – “Christmas Eve”
yankeecandle.co.uk says, “Traditional Christmas scents of a warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits.
The traditional design of our signature classic jar candle reflects a warm, relaxed sense of style that’s always at home.”
This is very, very christmassy (who would’ve thought, duh). It will leave a very light scent in the room which is really nice if you’re, for example, lighting it in the living room and have people there who are not too much into scented candles. It’s also really nice for lighting it right before going to bed as it’s not going to fill the air with an almost sickly film of fragrance which makes you wake up with a pounding headache the next morning. Absolutely recommendable for autumn and Christmas, despite being called “Christmas Eve”!
Yankee Candle – “Fireside Treats”
yankeecandle.co.uk says, “The joys of camp . . . mesmerized by the fire, singing and laughing, while toasting marshmallows to rich, gooey perfection!”
Another very light scent which reminds me of marshmallow fluff. It’s quite a sweet scent but not too sickly which I really like. I feel like this is more of a daytime candle, for when it’s grey and rainy outside and you want to make your room nice and cosy while you do things for uni or school.
Yankee Candle – “Ghostly Treats”
yankeecandle.co.uk says, “The scent of gooey toasted marshmallows is a haunting reminder of sharing spooky tales around a Halloween bonfire.”
Pretty much sounds like “Fireside Treats”, no? It smells a little different to me, though. According to the German website the only difference between this and “Fireside Treats” is that in here, there’s no sugar involved. Ah well. I mainly picked this up because it’s a Halloween Limited Edition and I thought it’d be nice to have a couple of tea lights which I can then put in cute tea light holder. Plus, the Yankee Candle tea lights last for a really long time!
Primark Christmas – “Cinnamon & Maple”
This screams Christmas. It is such a strong scented candle that I’m sure I don’t even have to light it, it’s probably enough to just put it somewhere with the lid off. It has a very strong cinnamon scent and quite a light maple undertone which I really like but I’m sure I won’t light this for long periods of time because it’s just too strong. And it sparkles! I’m definitely going to save this until Christmas – this one’s not to be wasted beforehand!
